Folk Opera Joint Performance
In order to preserve, promote,
and pass on the rich legacies of folk operas,
Taipei Cultural Center replaced the past annual
¡§competition¡¨ of folk operas
with a ¡§joint performance¡¨ of a single form of opera
per year in 2002, which has
received wide recognition and high praises since its
launch.
Community Touring Arts Festival
As an effort to incorporate art into the every-day
lives of the citizens, Taipei Cultural Center brings
a wide variety of great art exhibitions and cultural
performances into community squares, school
campuses, and local parks during holidays and
weekends for the enjoyment of neighborhood residents
and the public in general. Currently Taipei Cultural
Center organizes 24 sessions of performance or
exhibition per year.
Folk Art Activities
The Hall¡¦s Yen-Ping Activity
Center is devoted to the promotion of folk arts
with its main tasks including organizing folk arts
and crafts workshops, traditional arts and crafts
classes, which are held in two sessions (spring and
autumn) a year with 14 weeks per session. The
courses of these workshops and classes cover a wide
range of folk arts including operas, pottery, seal
cutting etc.
Festival Celebration Activities
Taipei Cultural Center
organizes festive activities and celebration
programs during important traditional holidays
including the Chinese New Year, Lantern
Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, and Mid-Autumn Festival to
allow the public to experience and appreciate the
essence and fun of the Chinese folk culture.
Citizen Arts & Crafts Class
The class is held during
spring and autumn each year. Each class session has
duration of 14 weeks, offering courses such as
calligraphy, Chinese painting, Chinese Knot
arts, and electronic organ.
