Cultural Volunteer Training
In order to broaden our
service reach, Taipei Cultural Center has been
conducting systematic training programs for
volunteers interested in promoting art and cultural
development. As of today, a total of 250 trained
volunteers are under the employment of Taipei
Cultural Center. The Hall now operates three
volunteer units, ex. service unit, activity unit,
and performance unit, to provide necessary support in such areas as inquiry, guidance, and
activity promotion.
Exhibition Area Management
Exhibition areas in Taipei
Cultural Center include the first-floor lobby
exhibition area and three exhibition rooms, which
provide a variety of exhibit spaces for visual artists to choose from, and have constant art works
including calligraphy, paintings, photographs, and
handicrafts on display.
Self-Sponsored Annual Invitation Exhibitions
Taipei Cultural Center organizes regular art masters
exhibitions and county/city cultural exchange
invitation exhibitions on an annual basis and
publishes albums of the works exhibited.
Music Salon
In order to provide an opportunity for Taipei
citizens to fill their long weekends with
high-quality cultural feasts, Taipei Cultural Center
organizes a diverse pool of arts and musical
performances on its first-floor lobby stage every
second Sunday afternoon of each month. By breaking
out of the salon atmosphere of a conventional music
hall, the music salon hopes to close the distance
and allow a true mind exchange between citizens and
artists or musicians.
Music Hour
In order to increase music exposure of visiting
citizens to Taipei Municipal Social Education Hall
and to enrich the stage experience of musicians,
with music expression as the main thread, the Music
Hour allows performers and the audience to immerse
themselves in the pleasant harmonies of lovely
melodies. The programs are performed on the
first-floor lobby stage of Taipei Cultural Center
at 2:30pm Wednesday.
Community Cultural-Educational Activities
In order to integrate the resources of community
groups and to create community-based local
characteristics, Taipei Cultural Center provides
guidance to various civil groups and foundations
through seminars, lectures, and small exhibitions to
help them develop an ability to organize cultural
and educational activities and train community
workers and volunteers on their own, in order to
increase the opportunities for mutual exchange of
experiences among the groups and to build a network
of cultural resources of local communities.
Lectures
ˇ§Citizen Seminarsˇ¨, in which specialists and
scholars from different fields are invited to serve
as keynote speaker, are held in the afternoon every
other Saturday. Meanwhile, systematic and
specialized seminars featuring heavy-weight
instructors are organized in order to provide
in-depth learning opportunity for the public.
