Art Performances
In assisting art performing activities, the Section
helps arrange for the music,dancing,and theatrical
programs approved by the Hallˇ¦s Program Review
Committee to perform on City Stage or other
performance venues.
Promotional Activities
The Section issues and
distributes the Cultural Activity Newsletter for the
Taipei Cultural Center to various public places,
community chief offices, and cultural and
educational institutions on a monthly basis.
The Metropolitan
Hall
Formerly known as the Taipei Municipal SEH Cultural
Activity Center, City Stage adopted its current
name after undergoing renovation in March 2003,
and has since become a truly modern, professional,
and versatile theater that applies a human touch to
its design and emphasizes the provision of
considerate services the to public. In the future, City
Stage will strive to become a first-class theater
that provides the best performance and recreational
environment possible for all our citizens of Taipei as well as
arts and cultural groups.
Art Plaza
The renovation of City Stage Art Plaza,
completed in 2003, not only upgraded the original
facilities but also expanded them by adding a
wood-board audience rest area and many flower beds,
giving it a pleasant sense of greenery and an artistic atmosphere. More importantly, it offers the
Taipei citizens an additional ideal place for
recreational activities and outdoor performances.
Wen-Shan Branch
Located at No. 32, Jing-wen
Street,originally the site of the Jing-mei District Office. The
construction license was granted in November 2000
building commenced on March 12
1991 and was finished in September 2003. Final check and
acceptance was completed by November 17,
2003.
The facility was opened to the public formally on January
17
2004. giving the branch a construction base
of 1,216m2, a height of 44.37m, a
structure area of 474.32m2, and an underground depth
of 11.95m.
The building contains two levels underground and
12 floors above ground, and is a steel skeleton
structure with metal-framed glass curtain walls. It
also possesses superior quake resistance, and is an
environment-friendly green building. In terms of
internal space, it contains a small
multi-functional childrenˇ¦s theater with a capacity
of 240 persons, The objective is mainly for a parents
and children's theater and secondarily for the promotion of
music, dancing and theatre, The theater is also
equipped with classrooms for teaching the arts, as
well as a 3-dimensional exhibition area, and several
rehearsal rooms of varying sizes.
Theater Forest Hall
Combining several forms of public art,
the hall creates a fairytale forest in the entrance lobby on
level 1, providing a place for children to play and
rest. It occasionally offers shows or exhibitions for parents and
children.

children are planned in order to inspire their
creativity and sensitivity to art.
